Dubai developer Nakheel has delivered Ibis Styles, the first of 10 hotels planned under its hospitality and leisure expansion, according to a statement on Monday.
The three-star hotel is owned by Nakheel and managed by French hotel chain Accor Hotels. It is directly connected to Dragon Mart 2, Nakheel’s new shopping, dining and entertainment centre adjacent to the original Dragon Mart.
“Together, the two Dragon Marts have more than 4,000 shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities that currently welcome over 100,000 people daily – or 36.5 million a year,” stated Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah.
The hotel targets both leisure and business travellers.
Nakheel has seven hotels and resorts — featuring nearly 3,000 rooms — open, under construction or in the design stage. Hotels under construction include the 372-room Premier Inn linked to Nakheel’s Ibn Battuta Mall, and The Palm Tower, a 289-room luxury hotel under the St Regis brand.
The company’s master developments include the Palm Jumeirah, The World, Deira Islands, Jumeirah Islands, and Jumeirah Village, among others.
Nakheel’s current and future retail project portfolio covers more than 15 million square feet of leasable space.
